If you’re receiving claims from ‘[Merlin] GSDistroPartners’ this is our Youtube partner claiming your videos and monetising them for you on your behalf, from here there are two options:
- If you have monetisation enabled on your channel and you want to collect revenue yourself then we can allowlist your channel and release the claims we’ve currently placed on it, then you’d be free to monetise them yourself directly and we would continue monetising your content where it’s used elsewhere.
- If you don’t have monetisation enabled on your channel though then releasing these claims would also mean not being able to generate any revenue from them. We can release claims later on if you get approved for monetisation later on but we can’t re-instate claims on videos if we’ve specifically released claims on them already.
Having Copyright Claims on your channel doesn’t result in any punitive action against your channel (You just can’t monetise a video being claimed) it’s Copyright Strikes that can result in your channel being removed.
