Five Easy Steps to Release Your First Song with MGMH Groove

Releasing music doesn’t have to be confusing. Follow these five simple steps and get your song onto Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming services with MGMH Groove.

  1. Prepare your final files
      • Audio: Export a final WAV or high-quality file (common setting: 16-bit or 24-bit, 44.1 kHz). Name files clearly (e.g., ArtistName – SongTitle.wav).
      • Artwork: Square image, 3000 x 3000 px (RGB). No logos or offensive images. No barcode.
      • Info: Decide the artist name, song title, and whether the track is explicit.
  1. Gather the details
      • ISRCs: A code for each song version. You can ask Groove to assign them if you don’t have them.
      • UPC: One code for the release (single/EP/album). Your distributor will provide this if needed.
      • Credits: List any featured artists, songwriters, and producers so royalties and credits are correct.
  1. Upload to Groove
      • Log into your Groove account and start a new release.
      • Fill in the title, artist name, release date, territory (where you want it available), and upload your audio and artwork.
      • Double-check spelling and credits — small typos can cause problems.
  1. Choose your release date and promo
      • Give distributors at least 2–4 weeks before your release date for smooth delivery. More time (4–6 weeks) is better if you want playlist consideration or pre-saves.
      • Set up a pre-save or pre-order if you want to build hype.
      • Plan simple promotion: an announcement email, short social videos, and asking collaborators to share.
  1. After release: check and promote
      • On release day, check major stores to make sure the track is live and metadata looks correct.
      • Share links, thank fans, and push your playlists and socials.
      • Watch analytics in Groove to see where listeners are coming from and which songs perform best.

Common mistakes to avoid

      • Misspelled artist or track names (creates separate profiles)
      • Low-resolution or copyrighted artwork (platforms reject it)
      • Uploading last-minute — gives no time for fixes
      • Wrong credits field — put featured artists and writers in the right places
